Discovering Aotearoa

Summer Learning Journey Challenge 2 day 1.

For this activity we would like you to think about your own experiences and your own cultural background. Where does your family come from? Do they come from Europe like Abel Tasman, Polynesia like Kupe, or somewhere else?

I come for Europe mainly England.  My Granddad on my Mum's said is born in England and lived there till he was about 8-10 years old.
Also on my Dads side I come from a small town called Kaukapakapa in New Zealand.
I also came from Germany on both sides but mostly my Dad's side.
I was born in Auckland New Zealand and have lived have my whole life. I love were I live not to busy and not to quite.

Thank you for doing week one, day one, activity two! It was really cool to read where your family is from. I also like how you’ve posted some photos, good creativity! What is important or special to you and your family? What language(s) do you speak?

I am Pākehā but my dad’s family comes from England and my Mum’s family comes from Scotland and Canada, which is pretty cool because it means I can go and live in all of these countries if I want to! My family is quite small and live in many different places, but I have a lot of friends and family friends who are like family to me. The most important thing about my family is that we are really open and honest and have great communication, my parents are also really loving towards me :)

I only speak English but I would love to learn Te Reo Maori and Spanish.

Next time you use images from the internet, make sure you attribute the image - this just means copy the link from where you found the image and put it next to the image on the poster, so we can see exactly where you found it :)

Thanks for posting! Have a great Tuesday.
    Eliza :)
