WPCA RIVER OF HOPE

THE RIVER OF HOPE

I want to say it was the final WPCA outdoor trip but we still have one exciting adventure to go.  We had along drive down there and we made a lot of noise.  But it was more fun the more noise we made.

WE"RE GOING

CAVING

I've never been caving and the thought of it scared the living hell out of me.  Going through was really made me scared but excited at the same time.   When we got there I broke down and started crying I wanted to do it but didn't believe I could.  My friends helped me through and encouraged me to try my best and be true to myself.  I couldn't have done it with out them.

This is from the Nikau caves website (We went to the Nikau Caves)
Going in the cave was really fun we couldn't get photos in the cave but it was amazing.  My favorite part was seeing the stalt tights and the stalt might's.  It really was an adventure of a life time I would really sagest doing it even though I wouldn't do it again.

Skiing @ Mt Ruapehu With Friends From School

In August me and the best group of people but 1 (Read for more info) went down to Tongariro National Park for a jam packed 2.5 days.

Highlights for me included:
Visiting Lake Rotopounamu

Miss Davis's Surprise

Skiing in Rock Gardens

WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shout as we rounded the corner to see the lovely body of WATER. .  The view was amazing it blew my breath away. It’s August 27 a.k.a the wonderful Miss Davis’s Birthday, I’m so excited.  With the beautiful Mount Ruapehu near us I remember the hero story of William Pike as I’m so lucky to be a William Piker (We normally get called the "Pikelets" but none of the Wesley William Pike students like that).

Speed walking along the trail in the bush talking to Tilly, Zoe’s little sister.  Whenever we saw WATER we would scream to the annoys of everybody else “WATER!!!!!!” like we had never in our life seen H2O.  The so-so Miss Davis who walks extremely slowly made us walk behind her the whole way. If we any of the cheeky students like myself went in front of the once wonderful Miss Davis.  She would threaten to poke us with her umbrella she sadly lied to use because I went in front of her and she didn't poke me :(
All Of Our School Ski Trip People (Taken at Long Beach)

Lake Rotopounamu

Long beach was amazing it was WATER yes but this WATER was a  magical greeny-blue color that glittered in the sunshine.

Long beach was indeed the longest beach there and probably my favorite beach and the one we stent the most time at.  The sun was shining brightly, it was hard the see the view but it was of course worth it.

Happy Birthday 2 you,
Happy Birthday 2 you,
Happy Birthday dear Miss Davis,
Happy Birthday 2 you,

We're walking out of the kitchen with a birthday cake in our hands. okay, okay, okay let me take you back to when this all started moving heavy branches into a soon to be bon fire.  Miss Davis was talking about Ski Trip and about how her birthday will be on the Tuesday of Ski Trip.  So I had the idea to give Miss Davis a surprise party on behalf of the William Pikers.  About 3 weeks later we are here at the lodge starting the celebration.  We place the cake down in front of her and Zoe and Helene place the gift next to the cake.

Miss Davis said twice that we had forgotten her birthday when we had been planning it for about 3 weeks.  The first time was in the car on the way to the bottom of the mountain when we were behind her cringing so much, but didn't say anything to her.  The second time was when we were walking in the bush around the lake she had a bag of jelly beans, and Zoe asked if we could have some but Miss Davis said "Well you did forgot my birthday so NO:(" and yet again we were cringing behind her back.

We had ordered Miss Davis a WPCA (William Pike Challenge Award) shirt for her and written our names around "Your #1 William Pike group". Because we are the best William Pike group she has had and we are the first William Pike group she has had.  We also made a slide about have amazing it has been be a William Piker.

"LOOK OUT BELOW!!!!!"
I scream as I race down happy valley.  It's a beautiful day to go skiing after snow the day before.  Everyone's excited to try skiing and racing there friends but first is lessons. I already know how to ski so because I come to ski trip last year so did most of the year 8's.  I get put into the more advanced skier's with Kaden, Lukas (who is a year 7) and I think Brooklyn.  Once our lesson was over our amazing principal Mr Davis toke me, Kaden, Lukas, Helene and Zoe up to ski at Rock Gardens witch is a level up from Happy Valley.

My time going down Rock Garden is a time I will never forget.  Firstly because on the first hill I couldn't stop and crashed into Mrs Colbett who was helping with our ski trip.  I had a melt down and kind of gave up but because I'm a William Piker (Not a Pikelet) I didn't give up the rest of the group keep skiing and Me and Mr Davis made our way down the mountain in our own time.  Mr Davis tort me how to stair I was amazed by how helpful Mr Davis was and how patient he was with me.  I made it down in the end then just stayed in happy valley for the rest of the day.

I would love to bring my family down to come skiing and teach them how to ski.  Overall I feel that I made the best of my time there.  My favorite part of ski trip this year was Lake Rotopounamu because I could goes wild and be myself.  For more information on what we did go to these 2 blogs.
